Students need real-world skills to succeed, yet meaningful opportunities to practice communication and business skills are often limited in the classroom.
Young Entrepreneur’s University provides a hands-on, immersive experience where students meet local business owners, hear real stories, and build life skills they’ll use in any career.
The FEU experience also includes a short video series and guided discussions that reinforce communication, connection, and essential business soft skills.

YEW experiences are tailored specifically for students, grades 5, 8, and 11, and college students seeking real-world communication and career readiness skills.
The program runs approximately 2.5–4 hours. Larger groups are accommodated using a split-rotation format for quality engagement.
No. Young Entrepreneur’s Workshop is designed to be plug-and-play for educators. We make your life easier! We coordinate business partners, structure the experience, and guide student engagement. Teachers are welcome to connect YEU to classroom discussions with the 12-session FOOP video series, but no advance prep or materials are required.
Yes! Young Entrepreneur’s Workshop supports Pennsylvania’s Career Education and Work Academic Standards for grades 3, 5, 8, and 11, particularly in the areas of: Career Awareness and Preparation (13.1), Career Acquisition – Getting a Job (13.2), Career Retention and Advancement (13.3), and Entrepreneurship (13.4)
Through direct interaction with local business owners, guided conversations, and real-world exposure, students practice communication, listening, teamwork, career exploration, and entrepreneurial thinking—all core components of the Commonwealth's required rubric.
The FOOP (Focus On Other People) video series is a 12-part set of short lessons included as part of the Young Entrepreneur’s Workshop experience. FOOP teaches students the essential communication skills required to succeed in today’s business world. Paired with guided discussion questions, the series helps students understand the importance of listening, showing kindness, acting with integrity, and building genuine connections. These people skills are critical for teamwork, leadership, and long-term professional success in any field. Students will learn to ask themselves, "Did I FOOP today?"

I brought my business students on the Yokl field trip and it was the highlight of the semester. The first-hand exposure they had to local entrepreneurs was invaluable; something the students couldn't get in any other way. We'll be doing this again and again.

Yokl provides an exceptional student experience that highlights the heart of local small businesses. Their tours consistently bring new customers into our market and help introduce students to vendors and stories they might otherwise miss. Wish I had this as a student!
